PARENT/CAREGIVER EXPECTATIONS

ILLNESS – ACCIDENTS

It is very important for the school to maintain up-to-date records of emergency information.  The school should be notified immediately of any changes of address, telephone numbers – home, work, or cell - and emergency contacts for when parent/caregivers cannot be reached.

When a student becomes ill or is injured during the school day, every effort will be made to contact a parent/caregiver.  If this is not possible, the adults designated on the emergency form will be contacted.  No child will be permitted to leave the school unless accompanied by an adult authorized by a parent/caregiver.

ATTENDANCE

Absence:      District policy requires students to present a written excuse, signed by a parent/caregiver, on the day they return to school following an absence.  Your child should give this note to the homeroom teacher.

Early Dismissal:   When a child needs to be excused from school early, a parent/caregiver must send in a note indicating the requested dismissal time as well as who will pick up the student. Parents/caregivers picking up children foe early dismissals must report to the office to pick up their child.

PLEASE NOTE:  Students will not be sent to the office for early dismissal after 3:25 P.M.  After 3:25, parent/caregivers must wait in the office or the parent pick-up car line until all buses have departed.

Transportation:     A last minute request to change a student’s transportation will be permitted only in the case of an extreme emergency.
